About the Event

Join Soirees by STAYTIME on Saturday 28th of September 2024 to celebrate Unlock Camden at Dr Crookston’s Estate, built circa 1880. In conjunction with our local council and other community groups, for the first time in it’s history, Dr Crookston’s Estate is opening it’s gates, allowing you to wander it’s gardens and marvel at this beautiful and unique property.

The estate will hold guided tours of the grounds through out the day. You will learn about it’s origin story and the colourful history of the home, not to mention the many artists and exuberant characters to visit, along with the intriguing locals that once resided at the home. Throughout the day we will also have musicians performing at Dr Crookston’s 1880s Estate –
10am to 12.30pm – Will Habbal, saxophonist
12.30pm to 3pm – Sarah Vella, Vocals, Keyboard, Cello

Macarthur Art Group will also be onsite during the day, holding art demonstrations as they immerse their creative spirit in this iconic property. Once visited by the likes of Dobell, Murch, Drysdale and Lindsay.

Once you have finished touring and exploring this piece of local history, please feel free to relax in our Olde English court yard, enjoy a coffee from our friends at Orion’s Minty Leaf and take in your surrounds.

We will also have a few surprises on the day.
