ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Modern Calligraphy is a fresh and stylish take on the art of beautiful lettering or handwriting using a pointed pen dipped in ink.

In this Modern Calligraphy workshop you will learn a variety of basic strokes and how to connect these basic strokes to create letters and words.

The workshop is run by the incredible Gizelle of the Gizelle Faye Creative Studio.

Gizelle and her team very proudly develop their workshops with a great amount of thought and intention. This ensures that they are delivered in a way that participants are able to easily return to the artform at any time, even when they’re at home.

All of Gizelle’s workshops include a comprehensive manual and carefully sourced materials that can be taken home to continue practicing your new skills.

AN HISTORIC ARTFORM IN A HISTORIC LOCATION

Imagine learning a 19th century artform in a 19th century Estate.

Pointed pen calligraphy as an art form dates back to the 18th – 19th century but first emerged in Europe in the 16th century as COPPERPLATE.

The term commonly refers to any old-fashioned, fancy writing or is sometimes referred to as Roundhand or Engraver’s script.

Our Modern Calligraphy workshops are held in the gorgeous living room of the iconic 1880s home in Camden.

The space spills out on to the picturesque courtyard on one side and views of the tennis court and garden area on the other. It’s the perfect setting for a morning of creativity and fun.

Our workshop dates coincide with Guided Historic Tours of the stunning 1880s Estate.

We invite you to stay a while longer and join us for a guided tour at the conclusion of your workshop.

Tours will run at 10am, 12pm and 2pm on the day.

Places on the tours are strictly limited so it is strongly recommended to book ahead to ensure your spot.
