MEG WASHINGTON – A WOMAN OF MANY, MANY INCREDIBLE TALENTS & ACHIEVEMENTS – AND THE LIST KEEPS GROWING!
Liberated by a TEDx talk in which she revealed her lifelong stutter, Meg began her voice-acting role as the schoolteacher ‘Calypso’ in the juggernaut show ‘Bluey’ in 2018.
In 2020 she delivered her critically acclaimed fourth record, ‘Batflowers’, which features the song ‘Lazarus Drug’. The creator of ‘Bluey’, Joe Brumm exclaimed the song was one of the ‘greatest songs of the century’ and placed it in the final dramatic moments of Bluey’s 28 minute special ‘The Sign’ which aired in April which was viewed by millions of people around the world.
With her partner Nick Waterman, Meg has co-written a feature film screenplay adaptation of Paul Kelly’s classic song ‘How to Make Gravy’. With their production company, Speech and Drama Pictures they co-produced the film with Academy Award nominated producer Schuyler Weiss (Elvis) and Warner Bros. Australia. Meg both wrote and curated music for the film which was released just prior to Christmas 2024.
Meg has also written the songs in the upcoming musical feature film ‘The Deb’ – produced and directed by Rebel Wilson and premiered at Toronto Film Festival in 2024.
In 2022, Meg released an exquisite take on the seminal album from The Killers ‘Hot Fuss’ and is currently working on her 5th studio album for release in 2025 under her own label ‘Batflower Records’.
